How to Build a Feedburner Email Subscription Widget for WordPress

Feedburner Email SubscriptionBuilding a Blog’s Subscribers List is as important as building an email list. You can and should  build both lists for your blog online.

If you have a little bit of experience online then you know the importance of building an email list. You will need to invest in an Email Marketing Software like Aweber.com.

If you are someone new to blogging and don’t have much to spend every month, you can still build a subscribers list with Feedburner.com. A subscribers list in feedburner is very close to an email list.

And the cool part about using the Feedburner Services is the free automatic newsletter emailer they have. This means every time you publish new blog posts on your blog, feedburner will send a newsletter email about the new content to every subscriber!

If you are planning on building a successful blog online with a low-budget, Feedburner.com can be a great substitute for an Email Marketing Tool and it can help you a lot more than you think. Feedburner is free to use!

You will need a Gmail Account to use Feedburner. Once you get an account – go to feedburner.com and put in your blog’s feed url (www.yourdomainname.com/feed). Then click next.

This is all you need to know in case you didn’t have a feedburner account. Now, let me talk to you about building a Feedburner email subscription widget for a WordPress Blog.

There are two ways to build a feedburner email subscription widget for a WP blog – you can use a Plugin or you can customize an HTML Code.

I personally use an HTML Code for my feedburner email subscription widget. The reason is because I like to use the lowest number of plugins for my WP Blogs as possible.

But this is a personal choice, so feel free to use a Plugin for this if you want. But if you decide to use an HTML Code as well, I will share my personal code with you.

Pick the one you want use for your blog.

If you have more technical skills and want to customize your own Feedburner email subscription widget in HTML Code – you can use my personal HTML Code to play with. Click Here to see my Feedburner email Subscription widget HTML Code. 😀

Your Feedburner Name for your blog is in the URL you have picked for your Feedburner Website.

Here is an example of what your feedburner page name is and where you can find it.

Here is what this Code will generate for you:

You can also Edit the words in the html code here. You will need to know some basic HTML. Use an HTML Editor like Kompozer.net to help you edit the code.

Once you have the final code – copy and paste the code in a text widget for your wordpress blog. You can also put one feedburner email subscription form at the bottom of every blog post. You can use this Plugin to help you with that.

This is an easy alternative to using a plugin. You can do either one but if you’re working on the speed of your WP blog then this is the best way to go (by not using an extra plugin).

This is a very helpful method to build up the traffic to your blog. Especially if you are someone who blogs on a daily basis and you are really dedicated on creating very valuable content for your readers.

As the number of people who subscribed to your feedburner newsletter grows, the more often you publish content, the more often email updates will be sent out to your subscribers and that can help you build up the traffic to your blog tremendously!

If people like your content, then they will have no problem checking out what you have for them next. The Feedburner Services can really help you build a huge blog audience, all for free.

You can actually see your subscribers emails and you can also download the entire email database from the feedburner.com dashboard. Just sign into your feedburner account, go to the Publicize Tab and go to the email subscriptions service – you will find the subscribers at the bottom. 😀

I hope this post helps you build an awesome Feedburner email subscription widget for your WP Blog!

We could really say the feedburner services are a good alternative to an email marketing software when you don’t have enough money to invest in a much advanced email marketing software like Aweber.com.

quiet a handy tutorial. Making marketers realize that they can build a list free with Feedburner could b elating.

Building a widget that is handy for WordPress could be so relieving, at least marketers that need to save money with regards to email marketing software.

Feedburner may not be the best email subscriber tool available but it sure is a good place to start!

I found this post in kingged.com – the content syndication and social bookmarking website for Internet marketers. Hence, I also left the above comment.
