How to Make Sure Your Website is Found On Google?

So you are a new website owner!

Or maybe a new blogger?! …

Well, you are here because you want to learn how to make sure your website is found on Google.

As you should already be learning; the search engines are one of the best sources of free organic and targeted traffic online.

In particular one search engine,

Google is pretty much the most popular search engine in the world.

And if your website or blog site is not found on Google, and you are not ranking any content in their search results, you are leaving a lot of free targeted traffic on the table!

So, it is very important for the success online to make sure your website is found on Google.

Today, you are going to learn how to do the proper setup to make sure your site is indexed by Google – and so you can start ranking content in the search engine results pages (known as SERP).

The process is very simple.

Let’s review it step by step.

I am going to assume that you are building a WordPress Site here. But, if you are using another type of website platform, the process is similar.

How to Make Sure Your Website is Found On Google?

1 – You buy a Domain Name.

2 – You setup the Hosting.

3 – You Install the WordPress Platform.

4 – Install a SEO Plugin (SEO by Yoast is the best one, in my opinion).

5 – Create a XML Sitemap Page using the Yoast SEO Plugin.

6 – Tell your WP Site to Allow the Search Engines to Index your site.

7 – Add Pinging Sites in the ‘Writing’ Settings of your WP Site (I will share my list with you; link is below the screenshot image).

Here is my List of Pinging Sites

8 – Use a Search Engine Submission Service to submit your website to Google and other search engines as well.

9 – Sign-in to your Gmail and get a Google Analytics Account and a Google Webmasters Tools Account.

10 – Add your new website to your Google Analytics Account and to your Google Webmasters Tools Account (you should do Google Analytics first – I have a video tutorial below).

11 – You need to Allow the Google Analytics Tool to Track your entire website. Either get a WP Theme that allows you to Add Code between the </head> element of your site OR use a Google Analytics Plugin.

12 – When you are adding your site to your Google Webmasters Tools you will need to Verify the ownership of your site; the fastest method would be via Google Analytics.

13 – Add your website’s XML Sitemap to your Google Webmasters Tools Account.

14 – Follow the suggested tips Google will tell you inside your Webmasters Tools Account.

15 – Your site is now ready to be Indexed in Google and ready for you to start ranking content in the search engine results pages!

These would be the simple steps you need to take when you have a brand new website online – in order to get it indexed in Google as soon as possible.

A high quality post with detailed specifics adds up to a very solid foundation you have provided for beginning (all) bloggers.

Having a site map is often a neglected step for new bloggers, but can be very useful in indicating to Google how often certain sections (categories) of the blog are updated with new content (and how often they should crawl the blog).

One added point of emphasis is having an active RSS strategy. Effective use of a blog’s RSS feed means that new content can gain instant and AUTOMATIC widespread distribution.

Here’s a link to an updated list of RSS feed directories as well as blog directories that accept a RSS url:

Once the blog RSS feed is submitted it is important to check back and record the listing directory urls. Then PING the urls with Ping Expert at Schedule the pings over a period of 99 days.

Great post, Freddy. I will retweet it.

      Hi Robert!

I love that RSS Strategy as well, man!

Thank you very much for coming by and sharing such a valuable comment and your valuable resources!

Definitely something to really take a good look into. RSS Feed Directories can really help your rankings and get you some free traffic, as well.

      Thanks, once again!

Keep up the great work, Robert!

      Have a fantastic week! 😀
