This post – is most likely for the online newbies who are still learning about search engines and SEO, etc.
Here is some helpful information for your new SEO journey! 😉
SEO is a great way to drive traffic to a website – it is also a great free traffic source.
But most of the time it helps to spend some money on tools and outsourcing some of the process..
I’m sure you already know this, but here it is anyways – SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.
It is not rocket science, right, so don’t worry even a bit – you will learn to work with it very fast and I will make sure of that.
….it took me years to learn SEO, actually…..
….I dropped out of high school, you see, really early and to me that has been enough education to motivate me to self-educate on passionate niches….
….at any moment, you can start to learn a topic, and master it – I know for a fact that you will learn everything about SEO and you will become a master of it! 😉
Before we talk about Optimization – let’s talk about Search Engines.
Search Engine: A program for the retrieval of data, files, or documents from a database or network, esp. the Internet.
- A search engine is simply an online service for the websites and the internet – that crawls around most websites online to gather their information from their pages and content.
This is how they can present their Search Engine Users – the best Search Results Possible.
Something you have to know – is that the search engine’s main priority will always be delivering the best search engine service to their users.
So, this means they really put in a lot of work to make sure they deliver the most relevant content possible to their search inquiries.
And these search inquiries is what you want to learn more about.
The words that people use to search for information on the search engines are keywords to the internet marketer.
The next thing you need to know is SEO Optimization.
Now when we talk about optimization – we need to take a keyword we want our website to be found by – and optimize our page for the search engines, so when they crawl the page – they will see that the keyword is being used very frequently throughout the page.
And that’s Search Engine “Optimization”…..
…..in simple words….
….is the process of getting your page ready to be found by a certain keyword in the search results on a search engine site….
Now that you know what SEO is and how this process can help you drive organic traffic to your website, let’s talk about how you need to optimize your page – your article (content) – in order to rank up in the search results for keywords.
This is a simple process that you will learn very fast – save/bookmark this page for reference in the future.
How to Optimize your Blog Post for the Search Engines:
2 – After you pick a good keyword or a few long tail keywords – it is time to do On-Page Search Engine Optimization.
This is where the WordPress Platform comes in handy with the plugins. I highly recommend you to use the Yoast SEO Plugin to help you Optimize your Content.
It literally tells you what you need to do with your keyword and how your content needs to be. It will also teach you a lot about search engine optimization.
Your Keyword needs to be used throughout your article and meet the following:
- Your keyword needs to be in headings – H1, H2 and H3.
- Use your keyword in the Title.
- Use your keyword in the first sentence and in the last sentence of your article.
- Make sure your keyword is in the URL.
- Make sure you Underline, Bold and Italicize your keyword. That means you need one keyword in bold / one keyword underlined and a keyword italicize.
- Make 1 – 2 of your keywords in the article – click-able. Basically you will need at least 1 link with your keyword in it.
- Put your keyword in Image Alt Tags – you need to upload an image on your post and put your keyword in the ALT Description of the image.
- Make sure your keyword is in the MetaTags Title and Description.
This is all you need to do in your post with your keyword. And this is basically the simple Search Engine Optimization you should do on your blog’s content.
The next thing you will need is Off-Page SEO.
Which is backlinks and promotion and stuff.
It is not a lot to learn but you can see that SEO can be a bit of a long process – and it is okay if you don’t really “get it all”, as long as you follow the simple information you are good.
The next step will be Back-Links in order to rank up in the search engines, but this is another subject you will learn in this site….
….so stay tuned!
So this is what SEO is and How SEO works!
I hope this really helps you if you are brand new to the internet marketing world!! 😉
